Posted: April 14th, 2011 | by Yuval Sheer

On April 6, the Redefining Juvenile Justice Clubat John Jay College sponsored a juvenile justice forum attended by faculty and students of the college. Judge Corriero discussed the consequences of New York’s low age of criminal responsibility and the Juvenile Offender Law which allows trying children as young as 13 as adults.

Judge Corriero urged those present to support establishment of a task force to examine the implications and impact of raising the age of criminal responsibility in New York.

The Center wishes to thank John Cusick and Katie Spoerer for their leadership of the Redefining Juvenile Justice Club, and for organizing this event.
