Yuval Sheer is the Deputy Director of the New York Center for Juvenile Justice, an organization that secures justice for children by promoting a model of justice for minors that treats children as children, and responds to their misconduct with strategies designed to improve their chances of becoming constructive members of society.

Mr. Sheer oversees the development and implementation of the Center’s programs including its efforts to formulate policy proposals, train system stakeholders, and encourage a more robust and candid public discussion about New York’s practice of trying children as adults.

Mr. Sheer is a graduate of Columbia Law School and was an attorney at the law firms of Simpson Thacher and Bartlett LLP and Cooley Godward Kronish LLP where in addition to his other duties he represented pro-bono individuals in proceedings in the Family, Criminal, and Immigration courts.
