Upcoming “Raising The Age” Community Forum

Posted: April 26th, 2012 | by Yuval Sheer

We are excited to announce an important and informative project—our first collaborative “Raise The Age” Community Forum. This event will provide youth and their families with a valuable opportunity to learn about New York’s low age of criminal responsibility, as well as to become familiar with legislative proposals to change the current law. This event is organized by the Child Welfare Organizing Project, and is co-sponsored by the New York Center for Juvenile Justice, Community Connections for Youth, and New York City Council Member Melissa Mark-Viverito.

The “Raise the Age” Community Forum will be held on Tuesday May 8, 2012, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, at Taino Towers, Crystal Ballroom 240 East 123rd Street (between 2nd and 3rd Avenue) and food will be served.

Our goal is to open the forum to as many families as possible. As such, we would appreciate your assistance in distributing the flyer below. If you would like to print out the flyer, the English version is available here and the Spanish version is available here.
