200 Community Members Attend the Staten Island Raise The Age New York Forum

More than 200 parents and youth attended our Raise The Age New York Community Forum that was organized in collaboration with the Staten Island Council on Child Abuse and Neglect (SICCAN). The evening represented the culmination of weeks of outreach within the community. We invite you to watch a short NY1 segment featuring the event. Please view by clicking the image below.

We express our thanks to Folasade Campbell, Executive Director of SICCAN for her efforts in organizing this event. We are also grateful to Senator Diane Savino, whose insightful and passionate remarks highlighted the evening’s message of the importance, to all New Yorkers, of raising the age of criminal responsibility in this state.

Finally, we extend a special thank you to our Juvenile Justice Academy members who volunteered their time to organize and plan this event. We look forward to our next community forum which is scheduled to take place in the South Bronx. A formal announcement will be made shortly.
